Post Glover Breaks Ground on Headquarters Expansion

Post Glover Resistors has celebrated many milestones over its 128-year history. On Feb. 13, the manufacturer added a big one to the list: the groundbreaking for a 30,000 square foot expansion to its headquarters in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Founded in 1892, Post Glover is the largest power resistor manufacturer in the country. The company manufactures high- and low-resistance grounding products for equipment and personnel protection, dynamic braking and motor/control resistors and harmonic filter resistors for electrical noise dampening. Post Glover’s 100 employees support a global customer base in the transportation, industrial, mining, and utility markets.

When Post Glover moved into its headquarters in 2012, the company’s leadership team expected the 75,000 square foot facility would suit its needs for the foreseeable future. However, thanks to growth in the transit and light-rail sectors, the company quickly found itself squeezed for space. The expansion will provide much-needed room to support such projects as the New York City Transit Authority subway system upgrade and the Amtrak high-speed train.

“The expansion will enable us to revise our layout to improve workflow, house more critical inventory, add equipment, and create more jobs as our business expands,” said Kevin Beckerich, Chief Financial Officer. “It speaks to our strength and success in our markets that just eight years after moving into our headquarters, we are in need of more room.”

Part of the company’s success can be attributed to its culture, which places a high value on the contributions of its employees. For example, it was manufacturing employees, and not company executives, who took part in the ceremonial groundbreaking.

“There is a real understanding in our company that everyone has a direct impact on our business and our success, no matter what their role is,” said Robert Berger, Vice-President of Engineering. “We invite our manufacturing employees to participate in events like these because their service and talent are so valued by our company.”

Likewise, the company opted to partner with Miller-Valentine Construction for the value we bring as a trusted guide. Our years of experience, combined with our consultative approach and commitment to accountability, deliver measurable benefits to our customers every time.

“When it came time to pick a design-build company, I decided that we would get the best value and service from Miller-Valentine,” said Richard Field, President.
