Making safety central to our culture and how we do business
At Miller Valentine Construction, safety is more than just a series of boxes to be checked. It is a team endeavor that’s tightly woven into our culture and fundamental to how we do business. On every project, we collaborate with our associates, partners and clients to anticipate, identify and eliminate any risks, workplace and job site hazards and unsafe conditions. Our number one priority is ensuring that everyone goes home at the end of the day in the same or in better condition than when they arrived. Maintaining job sites that are free of incidents and injuries also reduces the risk for our clients and enables us to stay on schedule and within budget. As a team, we strive to constantly improve our safety program by incorporating emerging best practices and new technologies that ensure we stay sharp, and continuously raise the bar on safety with each project we undertake.
OSHA designation
Miller Valentine Construction is uncompromising when it comes to the safety of our jobsites, our associates and our subcontractors. OSHA compliance is the foundation for our comprehensive safety management program that we built in partnership with our subcontractors to ensure we maintain the highest standards for safety. Our embrace of a higher standard for safety is reflected in our OSHA Voluntary Protection Program partner “Star” level designation, their highest recognition for contractors with superior safety programs.
Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC)
We have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to our employees, clients and community to earn the Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) certification. AQC members proudly set the construction-industry standard for high-performing, ethical contractors and community members. The AQC publicly recognizes and honors those construction firms which have documented their commitment in five key areas of corporate responsibility:
- Quality
- Safety (STEP Gold or Platinum Level)
- Employee Benefits
- Training
- Community Relations
Safety training evaluation process (STEP)
The Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) is a nationally recognized safety program sponsored by the Associated Builders and Contractors. Founded in 1989, STEP participation demonstrates safety leadership and a cultural commitment to safety performance. Participating companies measure their safety processes and policies across 25 key components, with the goal of reducing jobsite incidents by providing a guide for robust safety programs. We are proud to be the recipient of the Diamond Level STEP award in 2022.
