Miller Valentine Construction is partnering with Cohn Development to renovate a 9,000-square-foot historic building. Specifically, the project will transform the first floor of Parker Auditorium, a century-old landmark, into the Hanover College Center for Business and Entrepreneurship. Construction began on October 21, 2024, and is expected to finish by February 28, 2025.
For nearly a decade, Parker Auditorium sat unused due to safety concerns. However, this renovation will restore the building and create a dynamic hub for Hanover’s growing business and entrepreneurship program.
To achieve this, the team will first demolish outdated classrooms and storage areas on the first floor. Then, they will build a modern office and learning space, ensuring students gain essential business and technology skills.
About Hanover College
Founded in 1872, Hanover College is Indiana’s oldest private liberal arts school. Notably, Fall 2024 marks a record enrollment, with 348 first-year students and 16 transfers. As a result, total enrollment has reached 1,244—the largest in the college’s history.
This renovation is possible thanks to a generous gift from alumni Vance Patterson ’72 and Mary Jo Cody Patterson ’75. Their donation not only established the Hanover College Center for Business and Entrepreneurship but also ensured the Parker Auditorium name remains intact.
Meanwhile, Cohn Development and Miller Valentine, serving as General Contractor and Construction Manager, are proud to lead this transformation. Ultimately, this project will restore a historic building while creating a state-of-the-art space for future business leaders.
