On April 29, Miller Valentine had the pleasure of participating in National Rebuilding Day by providing assistance to Ms. Collins, a long-time Dayton resident. Our team worked diligently throughout the morning to complete various tasks both inside and outside of Mss. Collins’s home to enhance its functionality and perform needed repairs to lessen her financial burden, which included:

  • Replacement and painting of side door and frame
  • Removal of old handrail post bases
  • Patched holes in concrete steps and front porch
  • Painted concrete steps and front porch
  • Scraped and painted beams on the front porch
  • Installed 3 exterior solar security lights
  • Repaired exterior wood privacy fence
  • Added a lock to the side privacy gate
  • Repaired the front chain link fence and installed a gate
  • Replaced the oven/stove
  • Installed 3 carbon monoxide detectors
  • Replaced batteries in smoke detectors
  • Capped exposed wire on the backside of the house
  • Installed box and capped interior bare wires
  • Yard clean up
  • Filled holes in the yard under the fence
  • Landscaping and flowers
  • New Doghouse
